Malta Association
of Osteopaths
The Malta Association of Osteopaths was established to strengthen the position of osteopaths in Malta. It is an active member of Osteopathy Europe (OE). Its aim is to provide information to the public, improve regulation and standards and provide assistance to member osteopaths practicing in Malta.
History of the
MAO, aims and
objectives
The Maltese Association of Osteopathy (MAO) was founded in 2019 by a small group of osteopaths who wanted to bring Osteopathy to a higher level of recognition, after being recognised and regulated by the CPCM since 2012.
Robert Grech was the first official osteopath in Malta and has been working actively for the profession’s recognition and regulation for many years but the rapid growth of the profession in the country has urged for the creation of an association.
